Tree Planting With Every Order Update

At Firebrand, we have been on our sustainability journey since 2017 when we started Project Green. In 2021, we partnered with Climate Wise to offset our carbon footprint. Carbon reduction targets have been set to further reduce our footprint. These will be measured annually. Find out more about this on our sustainability page. At the beginning of 2022, we introduced our tree planting with every order scheme.

How many trees have we planted?

We have just reached the end of our second quarter of tree planting. We are finishing July 2022 with 5820 trees.

How does the Eden Reforestation Projects support wildlife and where are the trees planted?

Eden Reforestation Projects (Eden), take action in protecting and restoring natural habitats through their Employ-to-Plant methodology. They employ over 26,000 people living in extreme poverty to produce, plant and guard to maturity millions of trees every month. Over 485 million trees have been planted in Madagascar, Nepal, Mozambique, Kenya, Indonesia, Haiti and Central America. Within each of these project nations, Eden operates forest restoration projects in areas where historically high biodiversity levels once existed. Therefore, restoring and protecting forests has both direct and indirect positive net benefits for wildlife within and around Eden’s planting sites. As forests are restored, wildlife can return to their natural habitat, reducing their risk of extinction.

What trees do Eden Reforestation Project plant?

Eden plant Mangrove trees. Mangroves are one of the most effective and economic methods of offsetting carbon emissions. Each mangrove tree planted by Eden removes over 308kg (680lbs) of CO2 from the atmosphere over the growth life of the tree. This calculates to an average of 12.3kg per year per tree.
