Sustainable Branded Event Merchandise

On the 11^th October 2023, Firebrand collaborated with our colleagues at Geiger to stage Geiger Green Live Extra. This event was a boutique sized event where we bought our shared passion for lower impact promotional products to life. In the post, we’ll be sharing a summary of our favourite sustainable branded event merchandise from the day and an overview of the event.

Starting with the Geiger and Firebrand goody bag pick ’n’ mix table, here’s what was popular…

Neutral Tiger Cotton T-Shirts

Renowned clothing branded Neutral kindly added their Tiger Cotton T-Shirts to our goody bag selection. Tiger Cotton aims to convert conventional farmers to organic cotton. The mission is to protect biodiversity, people and the planet. The name comes from the first Tiger Cotton farmers living and working side by side with the great Bengal Tiger in Madhya Pradesh, India. It started out as a pilot project in collaboration with WWF India and has now grown into a full scale product-line converting farmers all over India!

Bamboo Flat Pack Reindeers

Build your own reindeer with our flat pack reindeer! This gift was loved by so many guests that walked through the doors of Geiger Green Live Extra. These reindeers are made with 5mm thick bamboo and are manufactured in the UK. They can be branded with a full colour print or a laser engrave to one or both sides. Each reindeer came as separate components consisting of 2 x legs, 1 x body and 1 x antlers. Plus, it’s reusable so it can be put up every Christmas!

NFC Bamboo Coasters

Our Bamboo Coasters have been popular for as long as we can remember! Similar to the reindeer, they’re made with 5mm thick bamboo and are manufactured in the UK. They can be cut to any bespoke size or shape up to 100mm x 100mm. We used the standard round shape for our goody bag. With the standard shapes, a cork base is fixed to the bottom of the coaster. What made this coaster different to any other coaster was the NFC chip! This means when an NFC enabled smartphone is held near the coaster, it will notify the user with a landing page to open. Perfect for those brands who want to promote a new product or as an alternative to a business card.

The reason we opted for a pick ‘n’ mix style goody bag was to encourage our guests to only take what they need. This will help to eliminate waste and will ensure our products are reused. It was also a great working example as to how a customer could pick their own swag box content or gift packs.

With any sustainable event, you must ensure the venue matches your values. We held our event at the HERE Building within HERE + NOW. HERE + NOW is proud to be net zero carbon with embodied carbon fully offset and all electricity powered by renewable resources. The buildings are equipped with gyms for all employees to promote health and wellness. HERE + NOW has been awarded the highest level of sustainability certification – BREEAM Outstanding. BREEAM measures the overall sustainability of the building, across a number of environmental factors including energy, water, waste and transport.
